Active Compounds:
- Volatile oil, mild sedative, anti-depressants, anti-septic, antioxidant, detoxifies.
Traditional Uses:
Internal:
- Soothes headaches and migraines, possesses insecticidal properties.
- Effective in treating high blood sugar, migraine, headaches, bacterial and fungal infections, and gastric ulcers.
External:
- Crushed leaves accelerate healing of burns and bruises.
- Used in culinary dishes like soups and stews.
Animals:
- Fresh leaves added to feed can aid in digestive ailments, act as a tonic, and stimulate appetite and water retention.
- Poultice application for tumors, swellings, and bruises.
Directions for Use:
- Prepare an infusion by steeping 1 - 2 teaspoons of crushed leaves in 250ml boiling water for 10 - 15 minutes. Strain and drink one to two cups per day.
Safety Precautions:
- Avoid use during pregnancy or lactation.
- Consult with a medical practitioner before use.
